Inaugurating the Administrative-cum-academic Building and hostels at ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Assam virtually on Monday, Arjun Munda, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare & Tribal Affairs said, agricultural institutions are enhancing the sector through multi-dimensional initiatives, with ICAR-IARI expected to become a crucial focus for the proper agricultural development of the North Eastern States.

He stressed agriculture education has to be linked to livelihood and employment opportunities.

Shri. Kailash Choudhary, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare urged scientists to exploit the natural diversity that exists in North East Region.

Dr A. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-IARI, delivered welcome address marking the day as an auspicious day.
