New Delhi, January 14 (ANN): The total area under Rabi crop sowing is 632.27 lakh hectares in the country which was 631.44 hectares last year. The Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare has released the progress of area coverage under Rabi crops as on 14th January 2025.
The Ministry reported that approximately 320 lakh hectares have been brought under wheat cultivation as compared to the 315.63 lakh hectares recorded during the same period last year.
In addition, pulses have been sown across 139.81 lakh hectares, while Shri Anna and other coarse cereals account for 53.55 lakh hectares of the total coverage.
The Rabi season runs from October to March.
