ICAR-CIP collaborative work plan signed

New Delhi. 21 March 2018

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) and  Dr. Barbara Wells, Director General, International Potato Center (CIP), Lima, Peru signed ICAR-CIP collaborative work plan for the period 2018-22 today at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.

During the period of Work Plan, ICAR (ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute and Central Tuber Crop Research Institute) and CIP shall undertake collaborative activities in the mutually recognized important areas like, crop improvement and varietal selection; enhancing state-level seed systems; enhancing farmer-based seed systems; cropping systems and natural resources management under changing climates; integrated pest and disease management under changing climates; socio-economic, gender, value chain and marketing; and emerging opportunities.

Ongoing ICAR-CIP collaborative activities and future plans for the year 2018 were also discussed in the meeting.

Chhabilendra Roul, Special Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR), Dr  Samarendu Mohanty, Asia Regional Director (CIP) & Dr. Jurgen Kroschel, Asian Potato Program Leader (CIP), Dr T. Janakiram, ADG (HS) and other senior officials of ICAR/DARE participated in the discussion.
